The Antoria Jazzstar H794 is a semi-hollow electric guitar produced in Korea during the late 1970s and early 1980s. It closely emulates the design of the Gibson L-5, featuring a laminated spruce top with laminated maple back and sides. The maple neck is paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard adorned with pearloid block inlays.
Equipped with dual chrome-covered humbucking pickups, the H794 offers a rich and balanced tonal profile, making it well-suited for jazz and blues genres. The guitar’s hardware includes a rosewood bridge and a gold floating tailpiece, contributing to its classic aesthetic. The instrument’s controls consist of two volume and two tone knobs, along with a 3-way toggle switch, providing versatility in sound shaping.
The Antoria brand originated in the 1950s as a UK market-exclusive label, with manufacturing initially handled by Guyatone and later by Fujigen until 1980. The Jazzstar H794 reflects the craftsmanship of this era, offering a quality alternative for players seeking the characteristics of higher-end models like the Gibson L-5 at a more accessible price point.
